Trump pardons former robber who attended a Republican convention

At the Republican Party convention, US President Donald Trump signed a decree pardoning a robber who, after serving his sentence, went into charity work and founded a program to reintegrate criminals into society, CNN reports.
“I will grant John Ponder a full pardon,” Trump said at a ceremony during the convention.
According to the TV channel, in 2005, Ponder was arrested for robbing a bank. While serving his sentence, he decided to reform – he began to read the Bible and listen to Christian radio. After his release, the man created a program that helps former criminals integrate into society after leaving prison.
After his release, the former robber even managed to befriend an FBI agent who had previously sent him to jail.
Ponder’s criminal record was cleared by Trump’s decree.
