The Kremlin told about the conversation between Putin and the head of the European Council

The Kremlin confirmed a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday with the head of the European Council Charles Michel, during which the Russian president said that pressure on the leadership of Belarus and outside interference in the processes taking place there was counterproductive, the Kremlin press service reported.
“President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the European Council Charles Michel. In accordance with the agreement, Charles Michel informed about the results of the extraordinary summit of the European Union, held on August 19, dedicated to the events in Belarus,” the message says.
The press service noted that the Russian side accentuated the counterproductiveness of exerting any pressure on the leadership of the sovereign Belarusian state and outside interference in the internal processes taking place there. It was confirmed that the earliest possible normalization of the situation in Belarus meets the interests of both Russia and the European Union.
