Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called Russia’s nervous and hysterical reaction to the Crimean Platform initiative, reports KorrespondentT.net.
The head of the Foreign Ministry said that Moscow systematically violates human rights on the peninsula, therefore supporting the “Crimean Platform” is “not only politically and legally, but also morally correct.”
According to him, “that nervous, and in some places even hysterical reaction” of Russia confirms that Ukraine is “on the right track.”
Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry accused Moscow of political bullying after the statement that Russia would consider the participation of any countries in the “Crimean Platform” as a direct encroachment on its territorial integrity.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 after a referendum on the peninsula. Ukraine considers it an occupation. In September 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented the concept of the Crimean Platform to the UN. The first summit at the site is scheduled for May 2021 in Kiev.
