Sleeping long on weekends can be dangerous for a person’s biorhythms. Moreover, resting will not have the desired effect. This habit was criticized by the Russian therapist and pediatrician Irina Dobretsova in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel.
“In the morning, even if it’s a day off, you get up, open your eyes, give a signal to your brain that you woke up at the same time as on a work day. And then you allow yourself an hour and a half to lie in bed with a feeling of relaxation, with the feeling that it’s a day off, ”the doctor advised.
The expert also explained why it is important to go to bed at 22:30. According to her, the hormone melanin, which is responsible for combating stress, according to human circadian rhythms, is produced at 23:00. To feel good, you need to sleep soundly at this time.
In addition, Dobrekova advised not a long holiday in the afternoon. On such a dream, it is enough to spend 20-30 minutes in the interval from 14:00 to 15:00.
Earlier, somnologist Alexander Melnikov named ways to strengthen the immune system through sleep. He also emphasized the importance of waking up at the same time on weekdays and weekends, but in the latter case, you can sleep an hour longer.
